Thanksgiving Day is a day to give thanks for the arvest and to express gratitude. It is celebrated each 4th Thursday in November in the United States. Since 1863 it is celebrated each year and it is tied to the deliverance of the English settlers by Native Americans after the harsh winter at Plymouth, Massachusetts. It is common use to serve certain foods during this day, like baked or roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, sweet corn, other fall vegetables, and pumpkin pie.
